Depression
Depression is a mood disorder that affects how a person feels, thinks, and functions in daily life. It is more than temporary sadness or emotional stress — it involves a persistent shift in mood, energy, motivation, and outlook. Depression can influence how individuals experience pleasure, relate to others, and perceive themselves and their future.
This condition can develop gradually or appear after significant life stressors, biological changes, or without an obvious trigger. Depression impacts both emotional and physical well-being and can significantly interfere with work, relationships, and self-care if left untreated.
