
Alyse McKeal is a Registered Sand Therapist and a Registered Play Therapist. Alyse enjoys exploring creative approaches in her therapeutic work with clients. Her clinical background includes working with adults, adolescents, and children using an eclectic approach that is holistic, evidence-based, and trauma-informed.
Alyse has a strong background working with clients struggling with family of origin issues, specifically, adults whose current family relationships are affected by past, unresolved concerns. She also works with clients coping with various mental health symptoms including anxiety, grief and loss, depression, adjustment issues, and women experiencing life transitions. Alyse integrates Sand Tray, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Parts work, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavior Techniques, and a variety of creative approaches (such as role play) to support clients from a strength’s based and client-centered perspective.
Alyse values compassion, insight, and education in the therapeutic process. She is committed to offering a safe space that supports vulnerability for clients in their therapeutic work. Alyse believes that everyone’s healing process may look different and there is more than one approach to therapeutic work. She strives to have a collaborative relationship with her clients, so her clients are invited to play an active role in their healing work.
Alyse holds hope for her clients to be able to cope better, feel calmer, and create lives they enjoy living. It is her privilege and honor to join her clients in doing this important work.
